Home Sweet Home

I think it is safe to say that Dylan is very happy to be home now.

For the most part, he is acting like his old self again

And doing his normal baby things

He is getting lots of love and attention here, and that's got to be good for his little heart too.

When we brought him home, it took him a little while to understand that we weren't at the hospital anymore. He would cry any time we would change his clothes or his diapers. But yesterday he started to trust us again. We still have to give him medications regularly, but at least they don't taste too bad. By tomorrow we will be finished with the weaning process of the morphine. Hopefully his body won't miss it too much. Then he will just have Tylenol for pain. He is a tough little guy!

We will be laying low for the next couple of weeks and keeping Dylan home. We won't be able to pick him up under his arms for another 5 weeks. It is hard to remember not to do that at times when it is such a reflex, and it is hard for the kids to remember that they can't pick him up anymore. Dylan lets us know when he is in pain. We are still adjusting, but it is so good to be home all together!

  1. So many details to remember after discharge. I am so glad he is back to his little self. It was probably really strange to be away from all those who love him, but it looks like he missed it. Thinking of you and praying for you guys!
