Surgery update

Well, today was the day and we got through it. We had to stop feeding Dylan last night, so as you can imagine, he was pretty hungry by the time we checked into the hospital at 7:15 am. We got him checked in, checked out by a nurse, dressed in his stylish hospital gown, and then we had to wait until 9:15 for his surgery to start.

We managed to keep Dylan semi-happy by distracting him from his empty tummy with new toys and anything else we could think of.

Here is Dylan in play room #1 with his favorite vibrating, light spinning toy.

We got an occasional smile out of him.

And dancing with Daddy is a great distraction too!

Here we are in playroom #2. Dylan was so hungry he thought he'd try out the paper.

Once Dylan went into surgery Justin and I began the long wait. We waited for 2 hours and 45 minutes until they were finally finished. The urologist did a great job and the surgery was a success.

Dylan coming out of being asleep, post-op

Not too sure where he is

When they let him eat, he guzzled down two bottles of sugar water. Then we moved up to his recovery room and he was able to drink a bottle of formula.

Food in the tummy, able to move legs again, very curious and ready to go home

We are so thankful that Dylan's little heart was so strong during this surgery. We're so glad that we are all home tonight. He has been uncomfortable for much of the afternoon/evening and we hope that we can get his pain down so he can sleep.

Operation #2, Complete!
