Dylan has had a busy week again this week. The great news is that he is 9 lbs. 11 oz. today. He is gaining weight so well, which is just what the doctors want to see him doing.
Today he saw his cardiologist and it looks like he is continuing to hold steady. His little heart has been able to keep things in a pretty good balance, despite its flaws. We should have a surgery date by next week. Apparently there are lots of people needing surgery now that the winter is over, so it's taken a month for the surgeons to even talk about Dylan's case.
Unfortunately, it was a bit of a traumatic appointment today. Between his oxygen saturation monitoring, his EKG test (where you have to help him hold still so that the 10 sensors they have sticking to his little body don't fall off) and drawing his blood out of his poor foot, he was quite upset and it was stressful for all of us. And of course when babies aren't calm and still all of these procedures take an extra long time, which doesn't help. So to say the least, we're glad that is over for another 3 weeks. Dylan was quite exhausted by the end of it and had a nice long nap.

Here he is trying to eat once we got home.
But a little bit of attention and love can help anyone feel a little bit better.
And before we knew it, we were able to get a few smiles out of him before he fell asleep again.
Sweet boy.
We will post his surgery date when we have it next week (knock on wood).

His smile is too cute! I'm sorry he had a rough day, but I'm so happy he's doing so well!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute boy! Love his smile. Sure hate to hear all the tests that he has to take. I used to hate the PKU shot in the heel, the babies had to have, so I can just imagine his so often. Looking forward to soon seeing him and all of you. Love,
ReplyDeleteSweet boy and sweet pictures!
